Dr. Kathleen Mercer Bsc ND

Born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Dr. Kathleen Mercer has spent over 25 years supporting individuals and families in achieving vibrant, sustainable health through naturopathic medicine. Her approach is grounded in science, guided by nature, and shaped by a deep respect for the body’s innate ability to heal. Dr. Mercer began her academic journey with a Bachelor of Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland after which she went on to pursue formal training in Naturopathic Medicine. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2000 after four years of rigorous medical training. After building a thriving practice in Ontario, Dr. Mercer returned home to Newfoundland in 2004 at that time being the only naturopathic doctor practicing in Newfoundland. She currently practices primarily in St. John’s, where she continues to be a leader in integrative healthcare. Dr. Mercer’s clinical philosophy reflects the core principles of naturopathic medicine: prevention, addressing root causes, treating the whole person, and empowering patients through education. In addition to her naturopathic medical training, Dr. Mercer is a trained Doula, practices Craniosacral Therapy, and is a Yoga Teacher. Her clinical tools include clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, Chinese medicine, homeopathy, lifestyle counselling, and mind-body therapies. Beyond the clinic, Dr. Mercer is committed to community education and regularly participates in public talks, workshops, and wellness events, helping to make natural healthcare accessible and practical for everyday life.
