Beauty Drip
Description
IV infusion therapy involves the administration of an authorized intravenous fluid, medication, vitamin, electrolyte, or other appropriate injectable product following an individualized client assessment. Prior to treatment, the practitioner reviews relevant health history, medications, allergies, sensitivities, current symptoms, treatment goals, and other factors relevant to the safety and appropriateness of the proposed therapy. The specific IV product, ingredients, dose, route, rate, and treatment plan are determined according to the client's clinical assessment, applicable prescribing and authorization requirements, the product's authorized information, evidence-informed practice, and the practitioner's education and competence. IV therapy is not appropriate for every client. Treatment may be deferred or declined when assessment identifies a contraindication, an unexplained or concerning health issue, or a need for further medical assessment. Potential benefits, limitations, alternatives, and material risks are discussed before treatment. Risks may include discomfort, bruising, infiltration or extravasation, phlebitis, infection, fluid or electrolyte imbalance, allergic or hypersensitivity reactions, medication-related adverse effects, and other complications associated with intravenous therapy. IV therapy is provided only following appropriate authorization and informed consent, using appropriate medication-safety, infection-prevention, monitoring, emergency-response, documentation, and follow-up procedures.
